Central Coast Nursery Day
Autumn is peak planting time and this April, Ross Tours is visiting three nurseries on the Central Coast for some serious plant shopping. Our coach picks up from Central Station and Beecroft. Head north to the Central Coast hinterland and our first stop at Wyee Nursery. A multi-award-winning nursery, Wyee Nursery has an excellent range of sub-tropical plants, hard-to-find fruit trees and edibles, herbs and seedlings. The Bamboo Buddha is a garden cafe in the rural hills of Holgate, known for its serene rainforest setting and gorgeous fish pond. Here there’s time to relax, have lunch and soak up the tropical atmosphere. A short drive east at Erina Heights are two excellent, independently owned nurseries – Burbank House & Garden and The Wildflower Place. At Burbank, Gary and Vickey Taylor have created a Central Coast destination nursery. The quality and plant selection is outstanding and their greenhouse cafe is a perfect spot to decide your next botanical purchase over afternoon coffee! Just metres up the road is the specialist nursery, The Wildflower Place. Here you’ll find native plants galore, including bush tucker, climbers, grafted eucalypts, grasses, rainforest shrubs and pollinator plants. Pick up one of their stunning fresh native flower arrangements. There’s plenty of room on the coach for all your purchases. Return to Beecroft and then onto Central for the final drop off.
