Sunday 10 October 2021
Gerringong to Batemans Bay (B/L/D)

Two ‘designer’ gardens today; the first at Lake Tabourie.
Where once only stood 3 big eucalypts and 875m2 of grass around a sad beige asbestos featureless house is now a colourful reimagined welcoming lakeside home. The house is now wrapped in abundant native gardens linked by timber boardwalks, and distinctively detailed timber and steel fences and arbours.
A very new native garden on Burrill Lake. A dilapidated asbestos cottage that was literally sinking into the lake, has been totally rebuilt. The roadside garden is an ode to the ramble of the cottage gardens, done entirely with native plants, whilst the lakeside garden is a contemporary flourish of simplicity taking its cue directly from the view that it is the foreground to. Travel on to Batemans Bay, our accommodation for the next two nights.

Accommodation: Lincoln Downs Resort, Batemens Bay

Monday 11 October 2021
Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden (B/L/D)

We will discover the beautiful Eurobodalla coast today and the National Park.
Morning visit to Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden, much of which is covered with natural forest. Display gardens exhibit flora from the ‘Gardens Collecting Region’, demonstrating its species diversity.
Local produce for lunch today at SAGE, a not-for-profit, community based organisation whose mission is to create and support a NSW South Coast sustainable fair food economy and food sovereignty for local communities.

Wednesday 13 October 2021
Narooma to Kiama (B/D)

Travel to the Shoalhaven with a stop in Huskisson for lunch.
Experience the transformative power of the Shoalhaven landscape this afternoon as we travel to Arthur Boyd’s Bundanon which is located on 1,100 hectares of pristine bushland overlooking the Shoalhaven River. Our guide will show us Bundanon Homestead and Arthur Boyd’s studio and gardens.
Arthur and Yvonne Boyd gifted Bundanon, including its properties and collections, to the Australian people in 1993. This unique gift is a cultural and environmental asset, borne out of Arthur Boyd’s often stated belief that ‘you can’t own a landscape’ and his deeply felt wish that others might also draw inspiration from Bundanon.

Two private gardens will open for us today.
