DAY 2
Monday 4 January 2021
Bridestowe Lavender Estate (B/MT/L)

It’s all about lavender today! Endless fields of lavender flowers will take your breath away. At 250 acres with an estimated 650,000 plants, Bridestowe is the world’s largest privately-owned lavender farm. Bridestowe grows true French lavender, Lavandula angustifolia, the only lavender variety suitable for use in perfume and cooking. As a result, Bridestowe Lavender Estate is truly paddock to plate. We’ll learn about the distillation process to make lavender oil. Morning tea and lunch are included today where you’ll complete your lavender experience with locally sourced ingredients creatively infused with Bridestowe’s culinary lavender. The gift shop is where you’ll find the famous “Bobbie the Bridestowe Bear”. Spend a relaxing afternoon on the pristine banks of the Tamar River at Waterton Hall, a magnificent 1850s homestead and home of Waterton Hall Wines. On a private walking & tasting experience, we’ll tour the historic convict-built Barn, walk through the gardens and vineyard and learn about this award-winning hand-picked, single vineyard.

Accommodation: Peppers Seaport, Launceston

DAY 3
Tuesday 5 January 2021
Mole Creek Gardens (B/L)

Mole Creek, in the beautiful upper Mersey Valley, is home to two spectacular gardens. Wychwood is considered one of Tasmania’s most beautiful gardens, receiving considerable acclaim from both local and international garden publications. With new owners keen to put their own stamp on this landmark cold climate garden, Wychwood will charm and delight you with sweeping borders, restored labyrinth, heritage roses and rare perennials. Morning tea in the garden is a treat! Nearby, Old Wesleydale’s classic English style ‘Arts and Crafts‘ garden is in perfect harmony with the homestead’s historic stone house and unique outbuildings. Lunch included today. Tour the walled garden, picking and white gardens, kitchen potager, henhouse, aviary, potting shed and conservatory. Travel back to Launceston via Deloraine with a stop at Yarns Artwork in Silk created by embroidery, applique, cross-stitch, weaving, patchwork & quilting. It’s a stunning community art project.

Accommodation: Peppers Seaport, Launceston

DAY 4
Wednesday 6 January 2021
Woolmers Estate (B/L/D)

Woolmers Estate is a unique and fascinating reflection of colonial life in Tasmania and is one of the most historically significant heritage properties in Australia. A guided tour of the house tells the story of six generations of the Archer Family. The garden is another reflection of its colonial past. Tour the estate with lunch included, overlooking the Rose Garden. A modern creation inspired by the French formal gardens of the 1600s. This afternoon we’ll visit the garden of Strathmore. Originally built in the early 1800s, the property features an unusual heated wall garden; one of only three in Tasmania. These walls were designed to provide heat to fruit and produce and extend the growing season. Farewell Dinner included tonight.

Accommodation: Peppers Seaport, Launceston

DAY 5
Thursday 7 January 2021
Launceston to home (B)

Morning transfer to Launceston Airport for your flight home.
